PRAYER TO MARY

Dear Mary,
Wrap your cloak around us, all of your children.
And give us peace, purity, love and guidance.
Help us to become the people God intended us to be --
Through chiseling and moulding.
Though, many times, chiseling and moulding
Comes in form of trials.
Jesus was chastised for sinners (I am one too).
Thank you, Mary, for giving us Jesus,
And that we can turn to you as Mother and friend.
Amen.

A DAILY PRAYER FOR JUSTICE AND MERCY

Pause before you begin to pray. Hear the words of Jesus speak to you: "I was in prison and you visited me…"

Jesus, with the Father and the Holy Spirit…Give us your compassion for those in prison. Mend in mercy the broken in mind and memory.  Soften the hard of heart, the captives of anger.  Free the innocent, parole the trustworthy.  Awaken the repentance that restores hope.  May prisoners' families persevere in their love.

Jesus...Heal the victims of crime. They live with the scars. Lift to eternal peace those who die. Grant victims' families the forgiveness that heals. Give wisdom to lawmakers and to those who judge. Instill prudence and patience in those who guard. Make those in prison ministry bearers of your light, for all of us are in need of your mercy!    Amen.

A "Visit Me" Meditation

See Jesus behind bars.
He wants us to (Matthew 25:36)
See our brothers and sisters languishing there. He does.
See, with Him, their:
    Abandonment
        Defeated stares
            Fear-filled hearts
    Abused bodies
        Untreated illnesses
    The Daily brutality
        Stabbings
            Deaths.
Listen to the sounds Jesus hears in our nation's prisons.
Hear them as do our brothers and sisters in prison hear them.
Hear them. He does.
    Slamming cell doors
        Heavy chains clanking
            Shouts of anger
    Cries for help
        Blasphemies
            Curses
                Obscenities
    Muffled moaning
        Fists pounding walls
            Fists pounding flesh
    Nightmarish night noise
        Ear-splitting day noise
            Unrelenting noise

Only rediscovered faith in Him saves the incarcerated soul -- saves any of our souls -- and gives purpose to prison's madness. After passion and suffering and death there is resurrection and hope for those who love JESUS. He thanks you for helping us reach out to those who seek answers to their questions of faith.

Prayer for Peace among Nations and People

Dear God, we pray to You
For people in all the world,
For other nations,
For other races,
For people who think differently
And live differently.
Help us to respect, understand,
And love each other.
Let there be no hate among nations.
Forgive all injustice.
Let wars end.
Let Your message be
Proclaimed everywhere.
Give us peace.  Amen.

A Prisoner's Prayer

Heavenly Mother, you are Queen of Heaven, Queen of Angels and Saints.  I call on you at this time to bless abundantly my brother inmates, their families and those chosen to give us spiritual guidance.  I know at times you have not been proud of us for our actions, but in your heart you know we are but frail and weak human beings.  In our own human way we come to you now to ask for your forgiveness, to ask for strength to battle constantly against the demons of the world and their ruler, the prince of darkness.   Help us now to have the courage to renounce him and recognize the divinity of your Son, Our Savior Who died for our benefit.  Please help the innocent victims of our crimes.  Help us to realize the severity of our sins and how they offend you.   Help us to be more Christlike in our actions  Help me to be like your Son, my Brother, of Whom you are most proud.  Amen.  St. Dismas, pray for us!
Dedicated to those who suffered during my addiction.  May God bless them!
